STORYBOARDING A GREAT PROJECT

Hi there!

Today I would like to talk about using videos for educational purposes. I am working with some classmates about a project in order to flip the clasroom. To carry out the project we are making a video with the objective of encourage children to think about the Climate Change. From this point, we will explain some aspects about Climate Change at school.

The goals of the video are:

• To introduce children to Climate Change.
• To make students think about the causes to this phenomenon.
• To raise awareness about the effect of Climate Change ir our planet

But, first of all, when a video is going to be recorded, it is necessary to create a Storyboard. What a storyboard is? It is a drawing made by frames, where each frame represents the scene of the video. The purpose of making a storyboard is to clarify and organise all the elements that are going to be recorded, as well as the audio that is going to be said.

These storyboards can be done with different tool. For example, my mates and we have used Storyboardthat, where we have represented the different scenes that are going to be recorded. We also have added a Google Doc with the objective of drafting the script of the video project.

Drafting a script is highly succesful because it helps to make plan all that is going to be said, something that sure a sucessful record.
